A luxurious oasis in Johannesburg
We were lucky enough to stay at Fairlawns for 1 night on 2 occasions during our trip to South Africa. A stay at Fairlawns will appeal to all your senses with the outstanding collection of artwork, eclectic artefacts, fabulous decorations, comprehensive menu & delicious food, beautiful grounds & pool and luxurious accommodation. Each guest room is unique with its layout & decorations providing guests with an elegant utopia in the sprawling city of Johannesburg.
The hotel is scrupulously clean, luxuriously comfortable, the staff offer a high level of service to meet your every need.

Fairlawns is thrilled to announce the addition of Executive Chef Chris Tustian to our culinary team. With a career spanning over two decades, Chef Chris brings a wealth of experience and a passion for creating exceptional dining experiences.
Chef Chris’s culinary journey began in 1996 in Banbury, Oxfordshire, where he steadily climbed the culinary ladder, showcasing his talent and dedication. Chef Chris then ventured to Chateau de Montcaud in France and in 2009, Chef Chris’s culinary journey led him to South Africa, where he joined Le Franshoek Hotel & Spa.
Captivated by the ever-evolving South African culinary scene, he quickly fell in love with the country’s bountiful supply of fresh and exceptional ingredients. Chef Chris believes that sourcing the finest and freshest ingredients is the cornerstone of creating memorable dishes.
To tantalise your taste buds and offer a winter warmer, Chef Chris is sharing his favourite soup recipe. This comforting dish is easy to make and utilises ingredients that are commonly found in your pantry (except for saffron). We invite you to give it a try and let us know your thoughts.
