The Fairlawns is a unique, exclusive, up-market sanctuary for today`s traveler, be that business or leisure.

Conveniently situated in the Sandton suburb of Morningside Manor, Fairlawns is an award-winning boutique hotel.  The conference centre, a large fully equipped gym, Balinese Spa and an excellent a la carte restaurant are available to ensure a full range of services are on offer. The property was originally bought from the Little Brenthurst Trust of Oppenheimer fame, and consisted of 10 acres with horses and stables and rolling green lawns. Portions of the property have been sold off, but it has retained its stately, park-like ambiance with huge mature trees and prolific bird-life.

This well-kept secret is the perfect balance between tranquility and proximity to the vibrant  business centres of Sandton, Woodmead, Sunninghill and Rivonia, between professionalism and the warm, welcoming ambiance created by friendly and caring staff. Elegant enough to host European royalty relaxed enough for one visitor to comment “a home away from home, only better”. We strive to match the beauty of our surroundings with personalized service and a ‘can-do’ attitude.

This was perhaps the best hotel stay of my 30+ year working history travelling 12 weeks a year all over the world. Your former manor is elegant, and your staff are universally charming and professional. But they are also low-friction in that things simply worked. The restaurant was a daily treat. I will commend your hotel to everyone I know, and have already to TripAdvisor.
It was exceptional. The whole experience was better than expected. Primarily, the staff were first class. Everyone had a smile on their face, the service was faultless. The room was palatial and the food and wine so good, that I did not even think about going out! Thank you again for a memorable experience.
Always a pleasure to stay at the Fairlawns. By some distance my favorite hotel in Joburg.
I stayed here with my husband during a 2 week business trip. The place is beautiful, a hidden gem in Joburg that makes you wanna stay there forever! Amenities are great and service superb. A special thanks to Jabulani who took excellent care of us during our stay. After trying several hotels in Johannesburg, believe me, this is the place to stay. I will definitely go back! Stayed December 2014, travelled on business.
We had a splendid and perfect stay at the Fairlawns! The hotel was grand and elegant and the grounds very beautiful. The service of the staff was impeccable. The staff were very warm and friendly. Our room was luxurious and comfortable. The hotel provided a free shuttle to the Sandton center and Mandela square which was very convenient. We stayed twice at the Fairlawns Boutique Hotel and both times our stay was superb.
This hotel is a beautiful retreat! We arrived for 3 nights before going on safari. We had not been to Johannesburg before and decided to spend a few days to have a private guide to see the sights, to use the spa, and adjust to the time change. It was magnificent! The staff is the most incredible group of people who cannot do enough to make your stay comfortable an enjoyable. They were helpful and courteous beyond anywhere we have been. The rooms are fabulous, all different. Our friends enjoyed theirs and we were so surprised to see each other’s rooms. The hotel is tucked away in a residential area but very convenient to get to other locations. We would highly recommend this hotel!
Fairlawns exceeded our expectations. A truly magnificent boutique hotel in beautiful setting. The French styled chateau buildings are the real thing – exceptionally well built and fitted out. The staff went out of their way to make our stay a memorable experience and I would thoroughly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a peaceful and and relaxing stay.
Fantastic, service was great and rooms were heavenly. The therapists at the spa have magical hands
My wife and I consider Fairlawns to be the best dining experience in Sandton. The hotel is beautiful, with a great ambiance. The food never disappoints and the menu has great options to enjoy. The service is top shelf! I would recommend Fairlawns, without a doubt!
I travel extensively on Business trips (over 5 months out of the UK last year!), so hotels are very much a part of my life. I would unreservedly recommend Fairlawns to anyone staying in JoBurg on business or for pleasure, indeed it has become my favourite hotel anywhere. 18-Feb-2015

We loved our stay at the Fairlawns. It is comfortable, spacious, well appointed, quiet, well located, and elegant. What else can you say? Oh, yes, the service was very, very good as well from check-in to check-out and everything in between. We stayed here after traveling 24 plus straight hours and it was a perfect place to rest up, adjust to the time zone, and even do a bit of exploring. Highly recommended! I don’t give out many five star reviews, but Fairlawns earned theirs. April, 2015
We enjoyed an overnight stay at this secluded, and relaxing venue, almost in the heart of a bustling city. When walking through the tranquil gardens, it felt as if the city was far away. The staff were very polite, helpful and professional. Our accommodation was very spacious and well-appointed. Even though we were visiting for a very short time, we left feeling refreshed and rested. This elegant hotel could have been situated in Paris or some romantic capital of the world. One feels worlds removed from the rustle and bustle from city life. The welcome was regal, the staff most sincere. We were shown to our spacious suite – the hotel has various wings, some more modern and bolder than others. We loved our picturesque little balcony with its lovely view, the opulent décor, the rich colours, the sumptuous treats. A whole tray was laden with complimentary delicacies. The amenities were lovely; the quality linen, mattress and towels ensured a blissed and blessed in-room experience. The hotel balances the old with the new in a picture perfect way. A walk on the grounds reveals magnificent gardens, a treasured spa, a pool area and the intimate lounge and inviting dining room. The menu and wine list are beautifully composed, and it is a real spoil to stay in for dinner and not partake in traffic to find a restaurant. The tastes, textures and presentation of our dishes ordered, were above average. Service for both dinner and breakfast was most attentive and efficient. Ideal for those wanting to escape from the city for a night of luxury.

We stayed at the Fairlawns just one night after a safari on the Zambezi Queen River Boat and a visit to Victoria Falls. The Fairlawns is one of the most beautiful and elegant hotels we have ever stayed at (and we have traveled the world). Quiet, personal service. Our room (21) was very large with a comfortable sitting area, large bathroom and all the amenities of a 5 star hotel. Just wish it could have been a longer stay. We loved the tranquility and beautiful grounds as well. 17-Jul-15
Dear Michael,
Thank you so much for a wonderful stay and huge thank you to and your staff who worked so hard to make us all so very happy. My family and I have been great admirers of the hotel since our first stay a little over two years ago and I can assure you that the last few outstanding days of wonderful food, wine and service has added another 11 people to your fan base. You must be a good boss. I have had excellent service in many hotels which is a matter of through training, but at the Fairlawns excellent service is coupled with a happy smile and a willingness to please that is very special. Congratulations. I hope your renovations go well and I look forward to seeing you again in the near future. Aye,Graham,

A pure delight! Best kept secret in Joburg. Treated my husband to a 50th birthday weekend there. Fairlawns you were outstanding! I would give them 6 stars if it were possible. The chef deserves special mention. What a talent! 26-Apr-16
